Brewing black tea the slow way
Warm the pot first with hot water and pour it out. Use about one teaspoon of loose leaves per cup, add water just off the boil and let it rest for a long steep over very low heat or on top of a kettle.
What changes the taste
Longer steeping gives more body and more bitterness. A little cardamom in the pot is lovely in winter. Fresh water matters more than expensive leaves.
